چکیده

Lignocellulosic nanofibrils (LCNFs) are usually isolated from biomass with concentration less than 2.0 wt%. The low limits the transportation and end-use applications of LCNFs. Therefore, development process characteristics concentrated LCNF become desirable important for commercial deployment application. In this study, 1.0 wt% suspension was prepared by mechanical fibrillation using a supermass grinder after enzymatic pretreatment, then dewatered to solid concentrations 5.9 wt%, 16.3 25.9 centrifuge. un-concentrated obviously stable, being translucent, well dispersed in water, while suspensions exhibited gel-like behavior or “solid-like” depending on concentration. Bundle-like fibrils were observed LCNFs, average diameter became large but still 100 nm. Un-concentrated LCNFs had similar crystallinity crystallite size, morphological changes mainly amorphous regions fibrils. films relatively good UV-blocking property, water absorption oxygen permeability. increasing basis weight benefit enhancing surface smoothness interweaves between fibrils, resulting tensile index specific modulus higher 71.7 kN·m·kg−1 6.8 MN·m·kg−1, respectively. sum, affected morphology structure LCNF, kept properties. Concentration may be feasible strategy large-scale production storage.

Heterogeneous flow kinematics of cellulose nanofibril suspensions under shear.

The rheology of NFC suspensions that exhibited different microstructures and colloidal stability, namely TEMPO and enzymatic NFC suspensions, was investigated at the macro and mesoscales using a transparent Couette rheometer combined with optical observations and ultrasonic speckle velocimetry (USV). Both NFC suspensions showed a complex rheology, which was typical of yield stress, non-linear a...

Dynamics of permeable particles in concentrated suspensions.

We calculate short-time diffusion properties of suspensions of porous colloidal particles as a function of their permeability, for the full fluid-phase concentration range. The particles are modeled as spheres of uniform permeability with excluded volume interactions. Using a precise multipole method encoded in the HYDROMULTIPOLE program, results are presented for the hydrodynamic function, H(q...

Rheology of concentrated carbon nanotube suspensions.

The rheological properties of non-Brownian carbon nanotube suspensions are measured over a range of nanotube volume fractions spanning the transition from semidilute to concentrated. The polymer-stabilized nanotubes are "sticky" and form a quiescent elastic network with a well-defined shear modulus and yield stress that both depend strongly on nanotube volume fraction with different but related...

Dielectric response of concentrated colloidal suspensions

The determination of the low-frequency ~typically 0–1 MHz! dielectric dispersion of colloidal suspensions may become an electrokinetic tool of wider use if the accuracy of experimental data can be improved and if trustable theories, available for a wide range of situations, are made available. In the present work, we focus on the latter aspect: Since the dielectric constant of the suspensions i...
